Wildfire Updates: Santos Fire, Grade Fire

In Butte County, the Santos Fire burning south of Forest Ranch is now 70 percent contained. The 89-acre fire erupted Friday afternoon. It shut down Highway 32 and caused evacuations in Upper Bidwell Park. Currently all evacuations have been lifted. Highway 32 is now open to one-lane traffic.

In Siskiyou County, the Grade Fire is almost fully contained. It started last Wednesday and destroyed 10 houses and outbuildings near the community of Hawkinsville about 2 miles north of Yreka. All evacuations have been lifted for the Grade Fire and all roads are open. It’s 700 acres in size and 95 percent contained.
