Two Children Found Dead In Redding Storage Unit; Suspects Arrested

Tami Joy Huntsman

Two Quincy residents have been arrested following the discovery of two dead children in a storage unit in Redding.

According to the Associated Press, a third child was found alive, but severely abused, and is undergoing surgery.

A press release from the Redding Police Department said that 39-year-old Tami Joy Huntsman and 17-year-old Gonzalo Curiel were booked into the Plumas County Jail on Friday – after being charged with felony child abuse, torture and mayhem.

Huntsman and Curiel recently moved to Quincy from Salinas. The Redding Police Department and Plumas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the case in conjunction with the Salinas Police Department.

The AP reports the deceased children were siblings, ages 3 and 5. Their identities have not yet been released, and an autopsy is pending. The condition of the surviving child is currently unknown.
