Cal Fire is making forward progress on the many fires that have sparked in the North State over the past few days.
Ongoing since this weekend is the Willard Fire in Susanville. It’s destroyed two homes and four structures and is now more than 2,500 acres in size. It’s now 60 percent contained.
Mandatory evacuation orders for the Willard Fire have been downgraded to advisory. Only residents with proper identification will be allowed into effected areas: including near Gold Run and Hidden Hills Drive and Cheney Creek Drainage East of Devils Corral. The Bizz Johnson and Southside Trails are closed.The Red Cross evacuation center has been closed as well. For more information about this fire, call the Willard Media Information Number: 817-9956.
In Modoc County, the Howard Fire burning in Howards Gulch is now 95 percent contained. It’s burnt 380 acres.
Now considered fully contained are both the 360 acre Hog Fire, in Tehama County northeast of Red Bluff; and the 32 acre Moffett Fire in Siskiyou County northeast of Fort Jones.
