Morgan McGaughlin of the CRPA says Bosenko was chosen from among several candidates and will receive the award at an annual banquet in Southern California on Saturday.

“It’s something we put on for our members to come and listen to a great keynote speaker,” McGauhlin said. “We present various awards, one of which is the Peace Officer of the Year award, this year going to Sheriff Bosenko.”

Bosenko, known for his stance on the Second Amendment, has a letter posted on his web page that he wrote to Vice President Joe Biden in support of putting officers in schools. He also is quoted in a news release as saying that the Second Amendment has kept our country free and protected.
