The featured exhibit for 2017 is on the flumes of Tehama County titled "Flumin’ the Hogback." The exhibit contains historic photographs of the areas timber industry and shows how rough cut lumber was brought from the mountains to the valley via the quicker and easier transport using the flumes. "Walking the Flume" was a favorite pastime for locals as was riding logs down the flume. A working model (including running water!) of the Blue Ridge and Empire Flumes has been created in the main gallery. Additional exhibits cover the history of the county from fossils to forestry, from cattle to the Civil War, from Tuscan Springs to Ishi and more.
